     2018-2019 Flu Season


Clinics will open for scheduling on Thursday October 11th, 2018


Please note: This season both the injectable (flu shot) and intranasal (Flu Mist) vaccine will be availale at the Frederick County Health Department Clinics. 


 FREE flu vaccine will be available for children 6 months through 17 years of age.

 Appointments are required. No walk-ins.


 Important Clinic Information:

All children will be required to wait a 15 minute observation period after receiving vaccination.

 If a parent or guardian will not be bringing their child, they must send a written note giving the individual bringing the child authorization to have the child vaccinated.

A child must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.

Injectable vaccine (Flu shot) is approved for people 6 months of age or older, including pregnant women and those with chronic medical conditions.


Intranasal (Flu Mist) is approved for healthy people 2-49 years of age, who are not pregnant. 


The Health Department encourages individuals, 18 years of age and older, to contact their Health Care Provider for a flu vaccine or visit one of the many community locations available to obtain a flu vaccine such as pharmacies and grocery stores.
